The rounded side of the house was made possible by cypress wood bending. They would put the wood in holes in the ground and leave it in there for years to get the rounded look.
The Randolphs had a very impressive call bell system. A different tone would come from each room so the slaves knew what room to go to.
This is a plate warmer, found in the kitchen. Also known as the "first microwave", people would slide their plates in and the heat would come from the fireplace.
